Here is some more information about me....

I have been teaching in the Huntsville/Madison area for 15 years and I enjoy working with students of all ages (3-103!). I teach privately from my home studio in Madison. This year, I resigned my 10 yr position as a faculty member of the Huntsville Symphony Orchestra School where I taught students as well as trained and supervised new faculty for the educational outreach program. I am currently enjoying full time studio teaching.  I like being active in the community playing in area ensembles and performing with local church groups, in schools and at special events. I graduated summa cum laude from Colorado State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Music Therapy and a double emphasis in violin and voice. I am able to combine my training, skill and experience as a performing artist with many years of experience as a professional Music Therapist.  This helps me to provide a unique learning environment for my students. I am a registered Suzuki teacher which means I have trained with nationally recognized Suzuki pedagogues to learn the philosophy and methodology of the Suzuki method of Talent Education. (To find out more about the Suzuki Method click on the link to the left).  This is the approach I use with all of my students.  I believe every student has the potential to learn and develop musical skill. I strive to create a positive and nurturing learning environment while encouraging students to achieve their highest potential. My goal is to help develop skilled musicians with great personal character.
